There once was a dog named Denny,
Whose perfections were much and were many.
He liked to curl up
Like a donut-turned-pup,
And go back to sleep againny.
There once was a little Basenji,
Who snored while I read "Genji."
He twitched and he fiddled,
He dreamed that he piddled,
While eating a dog named Benji.
It's bedtime, and Denny's tail is a-twitter.
It wigs and it wags as he circles to sitter.
He curls up to pose
With the tip in his nose,
Like a sweet apple fritter.
