Sleeping Patterns
It is nearing three years since Audrey and Shaka arrived through BRAT, and there continue to be surprises, and I have learned to never make assumptions.
For the first couple of months, they would always sleep in bed with me. Over the course of the next few months, they shifted to sleeping on the couch, and then sometime between 3 and 4 a.m., Audrey would go for a drink of water and then come sleep in my bed. Over the past month, the pattern shifted for it to be Shaka doing this.
When such patterns happen, I always wonder if there is some motivation or just coincidence. Over the past week, the pattern has gone back to the old one. New surprises may come again, and that is part of the intrigue of living with basenjis.
