Zuma is young, crate trained, and charming – she is what they call “a golden opportunity.” Give her a chance, and she will “zoom, zoom, Zuma” into your heart. She recently started wagging my tail, which her foster mom loves. She wants to have more things to wag her tail about! She has been learning how to play, and will need someone to play with her.

Charlie is a typical fun-loving, energetic young Basenji. After he jumps in your lap and gives you that first kiss you will be hooked for life. Charlie loves spending time outdoors. He does not care whether it is a nice long strenuous hike in the mountains, a quiet stroll through the neighborhood, or just spending quality time lounging in the yard. As long as he is with loving company and is out in nature, he is a happy dog. But if the weather does not cooperate, he is content to curl up with you on the couch to watch a movie, all the while using his charm to try and get you to share the popcorn.

Tanzania (Tansy for short) is a very special girl. She lived most of her short life in a puppy mill, but you would never know it! She really enjoys the company of people and other dogs. She acts very young, always wanting to play. Her foster Mom says she’s breaking records for jumping up and on things such as the kitchen table and counter, without really pushing herself too hard. She’s learning not to counter surf and hop up on tables. She's responsive to training when she is caught in the act. Her new forever family will have to basenji-proof their home and continue to work with her.

Photogenic Abby is a shy girl upon first meeting; she just needs a chance to warm up. She does like to cuddle with those she knows. She is an active girl who likes to play with people and other dogs. She loves to be outside in the yard or go for a walk, but needs some leash work. Abby loves to curl up on your bed with you. But she also will sleep contently in her crate if needed.

Henry is an energetic and charming dog that loves attention, and to snuggle with you at night. He will greet you when come home with a big baroo. You can also get him to "sing along" if you baroo at him. Henry is not destructive, he doesn't climb or jump fences, and he gets along fine with his foster sibling. He probably would do best in a home where he had a human or canine companion all day.
