Happy Birthday Mr. Mason!

Well, one year ago today Mr. Mason came into our lives. The first couple of months were challenging with this basenji boy but let me tell you, he is the love of our lives, king of the house, and keeps us in stitches every day. He is constantly coming up with new plans to gain attention and we can do nothing but laugh. He never did use a crate. His crate is filled with no less then 30 plus toys so he has his pick. Every time I go to the store, he has to inspect all of the bags to find either a treat or new toy. Last week on one of his walks, a car pulled up next to Frank, rolled down his window and this man said "excuse me, but how much would you take for your dog"? Frank started laughing and said "how about I give you $5.00 to take him." Well of course he was kidding. Mason is Frank's velcro boy. He never leaves Frank's side. Mason has a girlfriend. She is a husky that lives next door. Every time they see one another, Mason starts dancing about and making his little hoo hoo sounds. He never did develop much of a voice. Every once in a while, he lets out strange little noises that startle us.

Mason is a much loved little guy and we couldn't imagine life without him. Some people have said to us,"why is the world would you want a dog like that?" We just laugh and say we wouldn't own anything but. Aug. 30th is the day we have decided to celebrate his birthday. I sang to him today and he looked at me like I was crazy. So, I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU to Erin for taking Mason in and caring for him and THANK YOU Michelle for making that long drive to Baltimore one year ago today. Take care and hope all is well with you and your families.
