Kell - Part 2

For my part it's been fun watching the frightened, skinny little puppy we brought home develop a personality. Initially Kell's personality was hidden by the fact that he got so little human contact in his formative months at the backyard breeder, who dumped him and his litter mates at a shelter. Now, his eyes are the most expressive that I have ever seen, even more so than Sidhe (Shaye), our little 5 year old.

Kell follows the girls around and he is a real watcher-- he watches everything and takes it all in. He has a true sight hound's face and runs with a beautiful laid back gait that makes me want to try and put him in lure coursing if his prey drive develops. In our previous blog entry, we told you about his sleeping with us the first night. Well, now he stretches his loooonng body out beside me and snuggles up close. I don't know what will happen when it gets cold!

He is a really playful little dog and I love to watch him play with toys by himself. If he can't find anyone else to goad into playing, he will keep himself occupied with stuffed toys. We weren't sure about bringing another male into our pack, but this one rolls with the punches and just goes off and finds something else to do if no one else wants to play. All in all he is a wonderful little dog. Our vet calls him a real gem, and I have to agree.
