Tales of a Basenji Vacation

Every year, my family and I vacation for a week in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. If you've never been there before, I highly recommend it -- it's a very dog-friendly place. The dogs can do just about everything that people can do, including ride the ferry, lounge at the beach all day, swim in the pool, run on the trails, and play with their best buddy Tucker (my parents' Shiba Inu mix) -- all in all, a perfect doggie vacation! Here are some fun pics from our week with our pups.

Biko's car spot

Reef's car spot. Yes, this is as comfortable as it looks. For her.

Why do basenjis sniff the air vents???

Biko chilling in his towel tent.

OOOhhh, a big smelly thing from the ocean! Must investigate.

Dig, baby, Dig!!

The "hot doggie" face

Running = NO. When Reef gets tired she just lays down and refuses to move!

Who says basenjis don't like water?

Nighttime beach walks with my dad, my sister, and their best buddy Tucker!!

  1. The dogs in the pool is priceless; what a luxury for the dogs to be allowed to do that. I love it!
