Obsessed Part 2

Once obsessed....Always obsessed. Phoenix continues he obsession with soft fluffy things.
He continues with Glee to drag his doggie beds and pillows all over the house and pile them on top of each other and furniture. His latest obsession is with the large stuffed animals we got them for the holidays. He loves to hoard them (with his other toys) and pile them around himself. Everyday we put them back in the toy box and everyday he pulls them out. Enjoy the pics. These are his own comfy arrangements .

  1. He is adorable and hilarious. I think maybe he's trying to mimic the comfort of a pack around him, at least if this photo from Zande Basenjis is any indication of how basenjis like to sleep:

  2. Thanks Leslie, Those Zande Basenji pics were great. Thanks for sharing. If Phoenix did that to our other basenji Kenya she would give him a snark what for that would send him to the other side of the room. The stuffed toys don't talk back. He is hilarious though. I spend half my day snapping pics of him sleeping. I have never seen a dog find more ways to relax and get comfy!

  3. You're welcome, Linda. Sally Wallis does have some great photos of her basenjis on her website. Great info, too. She helped me a lot with our first basenji when we were novices to the breed.

Your story about Phoenix and Kenya reminds me of our Simba and Lady. Simba looked VERY much like Phoenix. We lost Simba about 2 years ago, but he definitely liked his private space (and his comforts) when sleeping, and our female, Lady, respected that. Sometimes I would find them sleeping in identical positions, but 2 feet apart. Yet they were great friends. And yes, we have lots of photos of basenjis sleeping as well!

  4. LOVE it, Linda! I think Phoenix is just letting you know how happy he is to be home and how much he loves all his stuff. Talk about a kid in a candy shop! They have come a long way since you brought them home last year. Kudos to you & Lloyd :-)
