Akila is a little girl with a big, impressive name! Akila and her male companion were checked into a shelter in Tucson, Arizona by the prior owner so we have very little knowledge of her previous life. in foster care Akila is proving to be a very affectionate little girl with a large range of vocalizations. She is also described as housebroken and good on leash, however many things are new to her, from sleeping in the foster's bed to playing with toys.

She yodels! She wags her tail! Everybody loves Cleo! She has a big personality and a great sense of humor. She is very affectionate and responds lovingly to both men and women. She would love to be your constant companion—taking walks together, snuggling on the sofa, and getting tucked under the covers in bed with you at night. Cleo will entertain you with her commentary which she provides with gusto. In addition to her frequent and exuberant baroos, she talks, squawks, yodels, crows and can even gives an occasional bark—though of course just one! And she has the waggiest tail of any basenji you have ever seen!
