Happy 4th of July

Last night the holiday festivities began. Fireworks on the beach. Who doesn't love watching fireworks? We are close enough that we can view the fireworks from our deck. Even better, no crowds to battle!

Well, not everypup enjoys fireworks. My poor little Dixie is terrified of the noise. In previous years, she would hide behind the couch until the noise stopped and it appeared to be safe to come out.

In preparation, I wrapped Dixie in her Thundershirt. She was a little apprehensive, knowing "something's up" and hiding beneath the stools. BUT, she did not go behind the couch!

By the time the first BOOM! was heard, she was snuggled on the couch with Mom and sister, Jazzie. Not totally relaxed, but calm.
